My Great, Great Grandma Johnson’s Ginger Cookies

 
 

Ingredients:

3/4 Cup Softened Butter

1 Cup Sugar 

1/4 Cup Molasses

1 Egg

2 Cups Flour 

2 Teaspoons Baking Soda

1 Teaspoon Cinnamon 

1 Teaspoon Ginger 

1 Teaspoon Cloves

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 350

Cream together butter and sugar.

Add Molasses, 1 beaten egg and mix well.

Sift and add flour, baking soda, Cinnamon, Ginger, and Cloves— mix well.

Refrigerate several hours or overnight.

Roll into small balls, roll in sugar.  

Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 350 for 8-10 min.  Cool on racks.
