ABOUT BODA CLAY
Hello! I’m Molly Svoboda, the maker behind Boda Clay.
I have always been the one, with my family and with my friends, to absorb, to watch, and assist. Clay has given me a way to give that trait a physical end point, and make it tangible.
I am deeply inspired by traditional craft, botanicals, and nature. My work is based upon the same ideas that can be found in our natural world– with high value placed on function, repetition & longevity. I believe the true beauty of my work, like nature, is found in the union of these things.
I love the elongated process, care and patience that the craft requires. Making ceramics- objects which, essentially, shine when paired with something else, reflect that deep part of myself. I discovered my skill for pottery in a community college studio, and I discovered my love for St. Louis through collaboration with so many local entrepreneurs and artists.
My pieces are meant to become the touchstones in your life that marry with the food on your plate, the fresh flowers in your vase, that coffee in your mug, to let your own moments touch you and keep you lifted.
